I’m super excited to bring you my shiny new website.
I wrote this fabulous blog post on my old site the other day about keeping your website refreshed and up to date because it can only take a short amount of time (say 2+ years) for a website to start looking a bit tired. But then when I uploaded my new site (from a testing site) my old site was completely wiped (intentionally) and so was that fabulous blog post. Ahem. Such a professional.
Anyway, before this revamp, I’d changed my theme about 5 times – all because brand spanking new themes were (and still are) being released all the time and I’d think “gee I wish my site used that theme”. But life got busier and you know what *they* say: mechanics have the worst cars. But finally I couldn’t stand it anymore, I had to bite the bullet and I used one of my favourite themes – Digital Pro from StudioPress.
In saying that, my previous website wasn’t terrible and in fact I’ve kept most of the innards but I felt the home page needed a refresh and some of the pages needed some lovely images. I also added a trick question to my contact page to make sure people were paying attention.
What’s in it for you?
Well, probably not much if you don’t need a new website. But if you do or you know someone who does – the first person who signs up (and pays the deposit!) receives a year’s worth of free plugin/WordPress/Genesis updates valued at $270.
All you need to do is mention this offer.
One thing I did want to add is that if you’re not much into themes (or templates), you can work with a graphic designer to design a website that can be built from scratch. I highly recommend Jacqui from White Deer if you’re after an excellent graphic designer.
So, hit the logo or the home page to go take a look and let me know what you think.
