Sheesh my brain is spinning at the moment. Blogger conference this, blogging about it that. Reading blogs about the blogging conferences. Working. Mothering. Doing. Not Doing. Drinking Tea.
But for now, let’s talk about the Why. I’m pretty sure I devoted a newsletter to this topic a while back but it’s ever-evolving. It’s about the WHY of what you do.
We’ve all heard of Simon Sinek right? He’s the guy who did that Ted Talk on how great leaders inspire action. It’s been viewed over 23 squillion times. If you haven’t seen it, go forth. It’s not high-tech – he uses a couple of pieces of butcher’s paper to explain his Why theory but it’s so ridiculously simple, I don’t understand why I didn’t think of it first! 🙂
According to Simon, operating from their Why is why companies like Apple and individuals like Martin Luther King are and were so successful and inspiring.
People don’t buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it
You see, I can easily say “I create ace websites” but that’s WHAT I do, not the WHY.
So the Why for me is asking my clients this (drum roll):
Do you want a website which is created with love and care, looks exactly how you want it to look, is easy to navigate and edit yourself when it’s completed and the process is made easy by the aforementioned love and care?
I know that sounds a little long-winded but basically I do what I do so the lives of my clients can be made easier. That’s my Why.
What’s your Why?
